Cherry Chocolate Zingers Created With: Baking Mix - Chocolate "...Today, I made the chocolate muffins exactly as stated on the box. They turned out so well. Then I decided to do some experimenting. I used the Chocolate Baking Mix but changed the 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract for 2 teaspoons of kirsch (cherry liquer). Then I added 1 cup of dried cherries to the batter. This made 12 really large, delicious muffins which I will freeze. Love to heat them up in the microwave for 35 seconds after freezing. ...I am 81 years old and love to cook. Thanks for your neat mixes!" Note from the Kitchen of Southaven Farm: If you don't want to use alcohol (kirsch), you can substitute either cherry extract or vanilla extract. We tested them using extract instead of kirsch and they still were fantastic and chock full of cherries. Chocolate and cherries -- what a great combination! ![]() NUTRITION INFORMATION per muffin (1 of 12), using all fat-free dairy products and Splenda: 155 calories, 1 gram fat, 5 grams fiber, 30 grams carbohydrate NUTRITION INFORMATION per muffin (1 of 16), using all fat-free dairy products and sugar: 175 calories, 1 gram fat, 4 grams fiber, 41 grams carbohydrate - MM, Ottawa, ON, Canada |
